Active Explorers Mana is looking for a new Centre Cook to join our tight knit team. Our tamariki learn through play; so they rely on you to give them the fuel to get through their busy days.

Who are we?

Here at Active Explorers Mana, we provide education and care for up to 77 children aged from 3 months through to the start of their school journey. We are inspired by RIE and Pikler’s respectful principles which guide our interactions with children to build their confidence and natural capabilities.

Who are you?
- As our menu is on a four week rotation, you ideally have menu preparation experience
- Current Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate is desirable but not essential
- Experience cooking for large groups or previous experience in an early childhood centre
- You are a passionate and intuitive chef, open and responsive to the constantly changing needs of our tamariki;
- Comfortable working autonomously and as part of a team - your day will encompass both.

You will be responsible for complete management of the kitchen including:

- Stock control and ordering
- Engagement with children and teachers at mealtimes
- Managing multiple different dietary requirements
- Cleanness of the kitchen area
- Menu planning

This role requires energy, passion and commitment to the team ethos. The role is Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week.
