We are looking for a person passionate about data and information, privacy and most importantly of all, people. This is a new role that has been created for the next 12 months to help manage some of our ongoing projects and to provide some support and stability for the Information team that you will be leading as part of our wider Corporate Assets & Data department.

We have an excellent opportunity for an engaging and motivated leader to lead our Information Team.

Duties are varied and will include:

- People management, resource and process planning
- Supporting the organisation to improve data management practices
- Develop and maintain data management policies
- Ensure systems, processes and data complies with current legislation
- Tracking progress of team projects and deliverables
- Collaborate with Digital and Legal teams to ensure systems and processes are user centric and compliant

**Ō pūmanawa | Your skills and experience**

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

- Have leadership skills and a proven ability to successfully lead a performing team
- Have previous experience working in public sector organisations
- Be innovative and have a strong desire to strive for successful outcomes
- Knowledge/awareness of the Public Records Act (2005), Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act (1987) or Privacy Act (2020) would be advantageous
- Be highly motivated and organised
- Have great communication skills
- Demonstrate ability to work in a collaborative manner
