Kaitohu Matua Senior Advisor, Hastings

Te Puni Kōkiri is the government's principal policy advisor on Māori wellbeing and development. We achieve strategic influence with a focus on providing high quality policy advice and holding other agencies to account for delivering public services to, for, and with Māori. This includes our mandate to promote Māori achievement in education, training, health and economic resource development along with performing our monitoring and mentoring roles.

Our Ikaroa-Rāwhiti rohe is looking for a **Kaitohu Matua | Senior Advisor**. This role is permanent, full-time and based in Hastings.

**Te whai wāhitanga | The opportunity**

The Kaitohu Matua | Senior Advisor, is the conduit between Māori communities and Crown agencies. This role involves building relationships with key stakeholders in the region, ensuring other agencies deliver effective services for Māori communities, managing investments to support Māori economic development, and providing regional insights to guide decision-making and policy creation.

The Ikaroa-Rāwhiti rohe covers a large area so some travel is required as part of this role.

The likely appointment range is $104,317 - $115,907 based on skills and experience. The full grade for this role is $104,317 - $139,088 with a mid-point of $115,907.
