Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral (MidCentral) is part of Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand and provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people across the Manawatū, Horowhenua and Tararua regions. With a large hospital campus in Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.
**The Opportunity**
This is a temporary, 0.9FTE role for up to 12 months covering parental leave. Hours of work will be Monday to Friday between 8am - 4.30pm.
You will be a registered nurse who:
- Meets Level 4 of the local Professional Development Recognition Programme (Level 3 working towards Level 4 will be considered)
- Has completed relevant postgraduate papers, minimum post graduate diploma and preferably a Masters in Nursing,
- Has prescribing authorisation as a designated prescriber with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
- Is accredited via, or meets accreditation criteria of, the Aotearoa College of Diabetes Nurses (NZNO) national accreditation process, and
- Has achieved a minimum of ‘Proficient Diabetes Nurse' on the National Diabetes Knowledge and Skills Framework (2018).
Experience in diabetes care is preferred and knowledge of the local community and health care providers will be an advantage. You will have a commitment to clinical excellence, teaching, self development, and professionalism.
