Within our Transport Unit we are responsible for managing the Council's roading assets which includes public transport infrastructure. We have a passionate team of technical experts who contribute and play an essential part in driving to meet our levels of service and we are now looking for a Passenger Transport Engineer to come and join us

As a critical member of the Traffic Operations Team you'll provide support and technical input into the design, installation and operation of passenger transport infrastructure. You'll be working closely with stakeholders to monitor and identify opportunities for improvement to the passenger transport network while meeting the requirements and expectations of the greater Christchurch community. Working on complex strategies will see you manage the operation of new and existing public transport infrastructure all while maintaining alignment to Council unit policies and best practice standards. You'll be seen as a technical expert in your area and will provide advice and knowledge while guiding and influencing to achieve best outcomes.

To be successful in this role you'll have a degree in Engineering or a related field. You'll be someone who is motivated and passionate about the industry and what you are achieving for our community. You'll be leading the charge and will be eager to get the best outcomes and will have a natural ability to form and maintain key stakeholder relationships. You'll have a go getter attitude all while being able to work autonomously and independently.

**Additional information**:

- Hours of work_ - Monday to Friday, 37.5 to 40 hours per week depending on contract
- Location_ - This position is primarily based at the Christchurch City Council Civic Offices, 53 Hereford Street

Whilst staff working at the Christchurch City Council are not currently required to be vaccinated, applicants need to be aware that should the COVID-19 environment change, roles across the organisation will be assessed, and the requirement to be vaccinated may be reviewed.
