**Key responsibilities**:
**This position involves duties related to oxy cutter/welder** but not limited to**:

- Responsible for driving with a Class 4 or Class 5 license.
- Drive long distances to deliver goods to customers.
- Load and unload scrap metal.
- Keep accurate records of deliveries.
- Refuel and keep the clean truck and trailer.
- Report road accidents to the dispatcher.
- Follow all New Zealand traffic laws. Inspect the truck and report any issues in a timely manner.
- Follow accident and incident procedures.
- Eroad logbook to be completed daily.
- Report mechanical problems to the dispatcher.
- Keep all professional driver licenses up to date.
- Maintain a positive attitude with customers and co-workers

**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**:

- Competence with driving a truck and trailer.
- Familiar with Eroad, or similar traveling tracking software.
- Detail-oriented, strong organization skills and a high degree of accuracy, and working independently.
- Work well with customers and others throughout the yards.
- Physically fit with the ability to lift and move heavy objects up to Some experience working in a workshop, construction site, or recycling factory OR qualification is preferred but not compulsory
- Physically fit with the ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 20kg)
- Must be able to pass a drug test.

**Qualifications**:

- 1+ years’ of relevant experience driving heavy vehicles on the open road.
- Hold a clean and valid Class 5 truck licence

**Location**:The Truck Driver may be required to work in several locations including, Kaiapoi,Christchurch,Timaru.

This role will be a permanent and full-time job.

A minimum of 30 hours of work are guaranteed.
