The Pure Food Co was founded in 2013 after watching a family member's illness make it impossible for him to eat and get the nutrition he needed to recover. We set out to uncover how other people with such challenges cope and were shocked to find that older people especially were struggling.

In fact, almost a quarter of older people are malnourished, meaning they are more frail, less independent and too often unhappy. This needed to change. Our mission is to nourish the world’s vulnerable with high-quality food and world-class nutrition. Quality of life starts with quality food.

Developed by food & healthcare experts, we now supply 90% of NZ hospitals, most of NZ’s largest retirement villages and the 2 largest food service companies in NZ and are about to begin our global export journey, starting with Australia.

Reporting to the Production Manager, this position will play an active role in producing food before sending to customers.

We are looking for an energetic and reliable person with a strong work ethic. You will need to understand the importance of food safety & food quality, as our customers are vulnerable. You will work with our production & distribution teams preparing ingredients, packing product into packaging, thorough cleaning & sanitation.

The role of Production Assistant includes, but may not be limited to:

- To make all products manufactured on the premises to the highest standards required
- To follow the training of your supervisor and ask questions if you are at all unsure.
- To be flexible in the ‘make’, being ready to rotate to the different jobs within the factory. This may include packing, cleaning, cooking, and making, machine operation and is not limited to these named duties.
- To take responsibility for safe handling and bring to the notice of your supervisor any matters where you feel safety is an issue. An outline of personal hygiene practices is in the handbook.
- To be aware of waste, both in time and materials and to minimize waste.
- To work in a safe way as outlined in the handbook so as to avoid accident and injury to yourself and others and to report any Health and Safety hazards to the Production Supervisor.
- To raise any issues with your Supervisor or where you feel it is not appropriate, with the Manager so that any issues arising can be dealt with before they become major problems for yourself, other staff, or the business.
- Set Up of all Production Machines.
- Cleaning and CIP of kettles after finishing of shift

To be considered for this role you will have the following skills and experience:

- Energetic & motivated
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Appreciation for food safety
- Experience working with food preferred but not essential
- Heavy manual lifting is required.

40hrs per week

**Salary**: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Auckland City, Auckland: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
