E tata haere ana te 30 tau te pakeke o Te Waiū, ā, kei te manawa o Ngāti Porou, kei Ruatoria e tū toka ana, kei 13 te rori o Tuparoa. Kei tēnei whenua ōrite hoki Te Puna Reo o Raparapaririki.

**Teacher Years 7-8**

Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Waiū o Ngāti Porou is a composite school Year 1-13 with a roll of around 110 students. There is also a Puna Reo onsite. The kura was established in the early 1990s and is located at 13 Tuparoa Road, Ruatoria.

Over the last 30 years, the kura has maintained a strong reputation for educational achievement, with high-quality teaching and learning supported by active whanau participation. With a worldview based on Ngāti Poroutanga and the principles of Te Aho Matua, students develop a cultural perspective of their role as key contributors to their whanau, hapu and iwi.

There is a well-established team of 10 kaiako in place. We are currently seeking a Kaiako for Years 7-8 to join the team.

The key attributes required for this role include:

- Preferably a registered teacher, or in probation period to registration.
- Familiar with Ngāti Porou reo and tikanga.
- Experience teaching Year 7-8 students.
- Familiar with Te Aho Matua.
- Class 1 Drivers Licence. Stage 3-Full licence.
- Sound knowledge and skills to teach Kapa Haka.

This is an exciting opportunity particularly for a Ngāti Porou uri to return home to teach within a highly successful kura and make a real impact for future generations. Housing is available at a reasonable rental as well as a relocation allowance.
