We have an exciting, fixed term/secondment opportunity for an experienced, motivated Senior Advisor to provide cover for a period of parental leave from 14 October 2024 to 2 May 2025.
Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity
As a Senior Advisor Property and Facilities, you will be responsible for meeting the Ministry's overall property and facilities needs, including maintaining safe and fit for purpose buildings, tools, vehicles and assets for Te Puni Kōkiri offices and managing the contracts within the Property Management Portfolio. This involves supporting National Head Office and your assigned property portfolio across Ikaroa Rawhiti, Te Waipounamu and Te Tai Hauauru.
You will
- Oversee all administration, maintenance and provision of advice concerning property and facilities requirements, ensuring all buildings related to your assigned portfolio comply with health and safety and security standards.
- Lead minor leasehold improvement projects and relocations.
- Ensure the Te Puni Kōkiri motor vehicle fleet is effectively managed and lead upcoming replacement project.
- Lead procurement and the implementation of required contracts within your portfolio
- Lead and/or contribute to ad hoc property or wider Property and Facilities related projects as directed by the Manager
Ko wai koe | About you
**To be successful in this role you**:
- Demonstrate an advanced knowledge and experience in property and facilities management practices
- Demonstrate knowledge in building systems and compliance
- Demonstrate experience in successful project management delivery
- Ability to communicate and engage with people at all levels of both internal and external organisations.
- Ability to implement related strategic frameworks, programmes, and projects
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience in negotiation of contracts and leases including the performance monitoring and delivery of them.
- Senior experience in a medium to large organisation.
- Are comfortable working in a tikanga / kaupapa Māori environment, a degree of fluency in te reo Māori is of benefit and understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi partnership is a must
- Clean full drivers licence
