**Mō te tūnga | About the role**
Dana Kirkpatrick MP is looking for an MP Support Advisor to join their team. Based in the Whakatāne office for 24 hours per week this is a wide and varied position providing community engagement and constituent services. You’ll be providing information and support to constituents, helping your MP engage with the community, and supporting your MP’s activities in the community. The ability to build strong and trusted relationships is key to being successful in this role.
**Tō kete | What you will bring to the role**
You’ll need to have strong relationship management and interpersonal skills along with the ability to work with a diverse range of people and organisations. You’ll be a key player in the MP’s support team across the East Coast electorate, although at times will be required to work autonomously.

You’ll be well known for your proactive, driven, and resilient character.
As an employee of Parliamentary Service, you will be politically impartial in your role. An awareness of the political landscape may be beneficial in supporting your MP.
**Ngā haepapa** **| Responsibilities**
- Liaise between the MP and the community, representing the MP where required
- Develop and maintain relationships with local groups and networks, to understand and respond to their needs
- Receive and investigate constituents’ concerns and issues, meeting with constituents for further information where required
- Advocate for constituents at Ministerial level, with Government agencies, e.g. Work and Income, Immigration New Zealand, and with other business and community organisations where required
