**The Opportunity**

Gentrack APAC are currently hiring a **DevOps Engineer.**

As a DevOps Engineer, you will ensure that the features built by our product development team make it into our customer environments in a fast, efficient, repeatable, controlled, and safe way, enabling our customers to benefit from the latest product features. As part of this, you will constantly challenge and help optimise and automate our CI/CD processes.

**T**he Specifics**

This role spans the customer experience through operations to the development team. You will have an avid interest in making this process as smooth as possible for our customers to ensure they develop and maintain an appetite for continuously taking incremental value-add features. Another aspect of the role will be the continuous improvement and innovation ensuring cost-efficiency and scalability of the CI/CD toolset.

You will have the full support of the team to support and coach you in your role and whilst no day is the same, we would expect you to provide expertise in the following:

- Technical documentation of deployed solutions and user documentation
- Development of standards, automation and procedures to achieve continuous improvement and repeatable processes
- Regular and ad hoc patching, updates of external and internal systems
- Troubleshoot production and deployment issues and coordinate with the Product team to streamline code deployment
- Cloud Platform service design, operation & maintenance
- Design, operate and maintain 3rd party software solutions
- Be a positive influential force for technical best practice within the team.
- Guide other team members.
- Mentor other team members.

Some things that Gentrack are looking for but are not limited to
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
- +5 years’ experience in relevant roles including development, DevOps or System Administration
- In-depth knowledge of engineering best practices and the engineering lifecycle from design to deployment and ongoing support
- Technical and programming skills in two or more of the following:

- Database scripting languages (i.e. MSSQL T-SQL / Oracle PLSQL)
- Other programming languages & frameworks eg: C#.NET, JavaScript and Angular framework
- A passion for DevOps activities and an excellent understanding of the fundamentals, practices and principles
- Working knowledge of SDLC methodologies
- DevOps capabilities:

- Experience with provisioning and supporting Cloud platforms
- A working knowledge of orchestration & automation tools eg: Jenkins, Git, BitBucket, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation
- Knowledge of containers eg: Docker, ECS, lxc
- Experience with configuration scripting languages eg: YAML, JSON, Python
