- Salary range $68,875 - $80,098 Tēnei tūranga - About the role:
The Verification Officer provides high level analysis on risk, issues and trends arising from markets which may affect the integrity of the immigration system. The Verification Officer also provides advice to visa decision makers on appropriate risk management strategies.

Utilising strong investigative techniques, you will be responsible for determining the authenticity of information presented and advise on immigration related decisions accordingly. Strong analytical skills and the ability to make timely, informed communications will be essential to be successful in this role.

Working collaboratively with external agencies and on and offshore staff, you will develop strong professional relationships to leverage positive and timely immigration related outcomes.

- Previous verification experience.
- Strong regional or market knowledge, or a familiarity with particular cultural practices that are reflected in our regional markets.
- Strong and effective interviewing techniques.
- Ability to quickly assimilate new information or areas of work.
- A proactive, can-do attitude.
- Ability to quickly establish, understand and build strong working relationships.
- Clear, logical, and articulate communication style.
- A working knowledge of security in the government sector & management of classified information would be advantageous but not a requirement.
- Well-developed written communication and report writing skills.
- Working knowledge of fraud trends & verification techniques would be advantageous.
- In-depth knowledge of concepts and profiling.
- A full NZ driver’s licence is preferred. Consideration will be given to those who only hold a restricted NZ driver’s licence with a view to getting a full NZ driver’s licence within 12 months.
- Relevant tertiary qualification is preferred and/or extensive and comparable experience in immigration, law enforcement, or a risk management environment.
- Must hold or be able to gain practicing Immigration Warrant.
