Get trained to be a Cardiac Physiology Technician
- Full time fixed term role
- 2 years intensive “on the job training”

Cardiac Physiologists are part of a multidisciplinary team working in a wide range of procedures to diagnose and treat cardiac disease. Auckland District Health Board offers both elective and acute care across a wide range of diagnostic and interventional procedures for adult patients and provides the national service for paediatric and adult congenital heart disease patients.
We have full time positions available for 'on the job' training as a Provisional Cardiac Physiologist, to join our dynamic and dedicated team based at Auckland City Hospital.
The Training Programme
During the training programme you will rotate through various technical procedures and gain practical competency in a number of core cardiac measurement techniques. These procedures include ECG, Exercise Testing, Non Invasive Monitoring, Cardiac Catheterisation, and Pacemaker Follow-up testing.
Along with the practical training you will be required to successfully complete a post graduate diploma in Medical Technology offered extramurally through Otago University and the National Certification of Cardiac Physiologists via the Society of Cardiopulmonary Technology.

To be eligible for this position, you will need to have the following:

- A Bachelor in Applied Science or BSC in Physiology (or equivalent)
- Keen interest in physiology and technology
- Excellent communication skills as you will be working closely with patients and other disciplines within Cardiology Services.
- New Zealand residency
- Good time management skills since the practical training as well as the additional qualifications required is a large workload
