**About the role**

**Essential skills**
- Mechatronics/Electrical engineering degree or equivalent
- 8+ years' industry experience
- Experience automating high reliability systems
- Experience implementing functional safety (IEC 61508 & IEC 61511)
- Experience with commissioning, operation, and maintenance of fluids & mechanical systems
- Experience leading complex engineering projects
- Knowledge of instrumentation
- Knowledge of low and high voltage AC & DC systems.
- Hands-on experience with data acquisition, control, and automation systems
- Ability to read, understand, and produce electrical schematics
- Ability to work in fast paced, autonomously driven environment
- Proven communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships
- Object Oriented PLC programming in Structured Text/Extended Structured text

**Desired Skills**
- Experience with launch pad systems OR oil and gas, process, mining, or other similar industry. This role is not limited to those with prior launch system experience.
- Experience with NI LabVIEW an asset
- Experience with design and commissioning of functional safety systems
- C/C++ development
- Python
- TeamCity
- EPlan
- Beckhoff PLC Programming
- NI cRio controller programming
- Perforce Version Control System
- Gitlab/Git Version Control System
- Experience with design of electrical systems for explosive atmosphere environments (AS/NZS/IEC 60079 or equivalent)
