**Location**: Hawkes Bay Hospital

**Service**: Intensive Care Unit

**Contract**: Permanent, Part-time 45 hours per fortnight (0.6 FTE)

**Korero mō te tūranga| About the role**

The HCA role in ICU supports nursing staff in providing basic patient cares, as well as meal delivery, cleaning, restocking, and some basic clerical duties.

The HCAs work under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurses, and must be able to receive direction and follow instructions.

We have a team of 10 HCAs, working rostered and rotating shifts, including night shift, in our 13-bed combined Intensive Care Unit and High Dependency Unit.

The successful applicant will need a high level of maturity, the ability to work in a busy and stressful environment, and be able to prioritise and multi-task. They must be physically fit and maintain good health. They must be professional, and be able to keep calm in difficult and challenging situations.
