Cafe Cook

Monday to Friday, 1pm to 9.30pm

Cater Plus is proud to be the catering service provider for Heinz Wattie’s, a Hastings based producer of frozen and packaged fruit, vegetables, sauces, baby food, cooking sauces, dressings and pet foods.

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, dedicated, and experienced Cook to join our cafe teams based at the Tomoana site. This is a full time role that is sole charge, working the night shift, taking over as the morning team leave for the day.

In this position you will be carrying out food preparation, cooking, baking, reheating, serving customers, keeping the café clean, and closing and cashing up at the end of the day.

To be successful you will need:

- a passion for food and enjoy working with customers to keep them coming back for more
- previous experience in food preparation, and knowledge of food safety and hygiene
- experience in café and cafeteria style food services
- to be friendly and engaging, hard-working and flexible
- to be confident to work unsupervised and resolve any problems that arise
- to be able to operate Eftpos and POS machine with a smile, and cash-up at end of shift
- maintain a clean, tidy, safe and hazard free environment
- great communication skills and a can-do attitude.

You will need to have experience in preparing an evening menu and cabinet options, as well as serving and reheating pre-prepared items. Think tasty, wholesome meals that our customers can order and eat in a short time frame before their next shift starts.
