We are looking for a cook for our beautiful childcare centre in Papamoa. If you know your way around a kitchen, can get creative secretly adding veggies to meals, and love children, we’d love to hear from you As our cook, you will play a vital role in preparing dishes that not only nourish our tamariki but also provide them with the essential energy they need to thrive, learn, and engage in playful activities This is a fantastic and rewarding opportunity for someone who has a shared passion for food and using nutrition to create new ways that will support physical and mental development within young children. Hours: 30 hours per week, 8.30am to 2.30pm Monday - Friday. About Us: Our centre is located just moments away from Papamoa Beach - sometimes we can even hear the waves crashing as they roll into the shore Our kaiako place a strong emphasis on building a sense of community among our tamariki and centre whānau. Every Friday, we have a special tradition where we come together in the ‘Hive’ as a centre to have some fun and celebrate recent events. We believe it's vital for our tamariki and kaiako to feel connected and supported by their peers. What are we looking for? - Experienced in cooking for large groups, be it in a childcare centre or other environment - Able to work well in a fast-paced environment, at times under pressure. - Fit and active, as this is a busy role - Excellent at communication and have skills to build rapport with parents & children - Flexible in approach, but also able to work to a daily schedule - A real team player with a "can do" attitude **Benefits**: - Discounted childcare - Competitive remuneration - Guidance and mentoring - A friendly, fun team environment Please note: Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa We are an Accredited Employer Why Work for Busy Bees?
