New World Waiuku is looking for a Qualified Baker with a minimum of 2 years' experience and an L4 Cookery qualification.

**Waiuku** is a rural town in the Auckland Region of New Zealand. It is located at the southern end of the Waiuku River, which is an estuarial arm of the Manukau Harbour, and lies on the isthmus of the Āwhitu Peninsula, which extends to the northeast. It is 40 kilometres southwest of Auckland city centre, and 12 kilometres north of the mouth of the Waikato River.

We are looking for a skilled Baker to provide high-quality Breads and Cakes to our customers. The Baker will perform quality inspections, use ovens, dividers, mixers and other tools to produce scratch baking including weighing, pricing, and packaging goods, ability to stock take and order raw ingredients through SAP is a must as well as ensuring that bakery displays are correct.

To succeed as a Baker, you should be courteous, knowledgeable, and detail oriented. You should have excellent English through all verbal communication and a strong understanding of a supermarket Bakery environment including that of a similar food control plan to NZ standards.

**Baker Responsibilities**:

- Preparing Scratch Dough.
- Oven handling
- Cake and specialty baking
- Cleaning and maintaining tools, equipment and plant and ensure displays and signage are accurate and attractive.
- Weighing, packaging, pricing, and displaying products.
- Keeping food safety records through digital platforms,
- Performing quality inspections and date checks on bakery goods and other products.
- Adhering to food safety and sanitation controls.
- Greeting and speaking to customers, providing advice, answering questions and taking orders.

**Baker Requirements**:

- L4 Cookery or higher
- Ability to use automated and hand tools, stand or walk for extending periods, lift heavy items, and interact in a supermarket environment.
- Additional or further training is often required.
- Knowledge of baking preparation techniques and cuts.
- Strong communication, task management, and customer service skills.

Pay range minimum $31 to maximum $32.

Individual employment agreement hours per week 40.5
