**About the role**

We are currently seeking a creative, motivated, and enthusiastic **Kaiako **to join our team to facilitate our Building and **Construction Secondary Tertiary Programme (STP) **on a** permanent part-time basis (15 hours per week).** Designed for year 11 - 13 secondary school tauira (students), STP is a partnership between tertiary education organisations and schools and aims to meet the needs of tauira at risk of disengaging from education, by raising their achievement levels and promoting transitions to further education, training, or employment.

This is Building and Construction programme offers tauira the chance to learn about the construction trade through practical experiences, cultural connections and mātauranga.

As a Kaiako, some of the key responsibilities will include:

- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the STP curriculum.
- Present material to tauira in an interactive and culturally engaging manner.
- Assess and evaluate tauira progress to ensure ongoing improvement.
- Complete reporting of assessments and attendance.

**About you**

You will also bring with you:

- A Diploma Level 5 or equivalent in related field.
- Level 5 Teaching Qualification.
- Level 5 National Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education.
- Full NZ Driver’s License (P class preferred but not essential).
- Unit standards, 4098, 11281, 18203.

A Building qualification or similar is preferred but not essential.

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
