Te Ohu Kaimoana is a charitable trust created to advance the interests of iwi in fishing and fisheries-related activities. They are structured to ensure that fisheries and aquaculture settlements are robust for future generations of Māori and are accountable to its constituent iwi shareholders, who have collective responsibilities to all Māori. Te Ohu Kaimoana works with fifty-eight recognised iwi organisations and other industry leaders to ensure sustainable fishery resources.

**Mō tēnei tūranga mahi - About the role**
We have an exciting opportunity to be able to work with iwi and iwi aquaculture organisations across the motu.

We are seeking a Tai Pari (Policy Analyst) to join a passionate rōpū that looks to advance the interests of iwi, primarily in the development of aquaculture. This is an exciting opportunity to work with iwi and iwi aquaculture organisations across the motu.

You will be able to provide robust advice which supports the kaupapa of advancing Māori interest aquaculture through their settlement obligations on the crown. You will also have the ability to think critically and evaluate the proposed policy issues that come from government and local bodies that require a Te Ohu Kaimoana response.
- Leading key pieces of work with iwi, crown, and industry.
- Summarising scientific reports for general understanding.
- Communicating and analysing data analytics to determine the economic viability of aquaculture.
- Developing advice to government on behalf, or alongside iwi.
- Facilitate discussions with iwi on aquaculture related matters.

**Ko koe tēnei - About you**

To be successful in this role you will bring:

- A working knowledge of the principles of te Triti o Waitangi and the ability to operate in both te ao Māori and te ao Pākehā environments
- Experience in fisheries or aquaculture
- Knowledge of Te Ao Māori, Tikanga and Te Reo Māori
- Strong written and communication skills
