Are you an experienced pharmacy technician looking for an exciting opportunity to advance your career? We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our team and play a key role in delivering a high-quality pharmaceutical production service. This position involves working collaboratively to ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, standards, and guidelines while supporting the efficient and effective delivery of pharmacy production services.

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, Waitaha prides itself on supporting and developing our Pharmacy Technicians. This position has plenty of variety and challenging opportunities and innovation is encouraged by peers, senior staff and management. The department provides regular continuing education and numerous other training opportunities.

The days and hours required for this position are between Monday - Friday, 8.00am - 4.30pm with details to be discussed at interview. There will also be the opportunity to participate in our weekend roster (Saturday morning).

In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Maintaining quality assurance procedures
- Assisting in the preparation and review of operational documentation
- Ensuring standardisation across pharmacy services.
- Leading training and mentoring of staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians interns, assistants, and students
- Rostering rotational staff and coordinating workload distribution
- Compounding sterile and non-sterile products
- Dispensing inpatient and outpatient medication including clinical trials, compassionate supplies, home IV therapy, chemotherapy and sterile products

**About You**

Your skills will include:

- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Experience leading or mentoring staff either formally or informally
- Experience in pharmaceutical production, quality assurance and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) are desirable
- Be eligible and willing to undertake training to become a PACT
- A Pharmacy Technician’s Certificate (level 5) is essential
