**Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role**

As Head you will have the opportunity build and grow a new permanent team committed to driving environmental outcomes. You will need to further shape the Programme, in collaboration with colleagues from New Zealand Debt Management, the wider Treasury, public sector agencies and the sustainable finance sector. This includes developing and publishing inaugural public reporting on environmental outcomes. You will be an active member of the directorate Senior Leadership Team and will report through to the Executive Director, Capital Markets.

**In this role, you will be responsible for**:

- Building and leading a team that will:

- Shape the Programme in line with international best practice and investor expectations
- Evaluate and select expenditures for inclusion in the programme, and allocate bond proceeds to expenditures
- Report to markets on Programme outcomes including environmental impacts
- Support a cross-agency governance group
- Ensuring your team develops and delivers effective advice on the evaluation of the Programme for Ministers, senior Treasury leaders and the cross-agency governance group
- Building effective and enduring relationships with senior stakeholders, including Ministers, public sector Chief Executives and Chief Financial Officers, and the sustainable finance sector
- Building support for the Programme inside and outside government
- Overseeing operational delivery of the programme and managing risks
- Providing strong intellectual and people leadership.

- Sustainable finance, environmental policy or public sector financial management experience
- Self-starter with initiative who can think independently and drive outcomes
- The ability to lead across policy and operations
- Focus on innovating and improving how things are done
- Authentic and inclusive leader with a proven ability to develop talent and enhance team performance
- Exceptional relationship management skills and credibility to engage with and influence senior decision makers
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to represent the Treasury in senior forums
- Resilient with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, changeable and ambiguous environment
