Library Shift Supervisor

As our **Library Shift Supervisor** your key responsibilities will include:

- Act as the facility’s duty manager when required, overseeing the team, operations, customer safety, and facility security.
- Collaborate with the Customer Service Lead to ensure adequate staffing for the libraries.
- Complete and share weekly handover debriefs with the Customer Service Lead and incoming Shift Supervisor.
- Support Napier Libraries’ activities across multiple sites on a seven-day roster.
- Participate in daily library tasks and deliver excellent service to customers.
- Plan and manage routine duties, ensuring all customer enquiries and feedback are addressed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor library trends to identify new opportunities for improvement or growth.
- Help market and promote Napier Libraries through social media, promotional materials, and campaigns.
- Prioritise workplace safety by promoting safe practices and preventing injuries.

**To be considered for the position you will have**:

- National Certificate Level 4 or relevant experience
- 5+ years in customer service
- Previous experience as a shift supervisor, duty manager, or similar role
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working with community groups
- Creative and innovative problem-solving skills
- Excellent people skills, able to engage with diverse customers, staff, and organisations
- Highly organised and process-oriented
