We are seeking multiple Pilot Drivers for an immediate start. Our client specialises in vegetation control and roadside maintenance around the greater Waikato region, beginning the day in Matamata and visiting the Hamilton yard on an as required basis.
What is a pilot driver?
Leading the way for a slow-moving vehicle (i.e Tractors)
Help navigate and communicate the road ahead and conditions your slow-moving vehicle will need to be aware of
Ensure the safety of other road users by actively communicating with your slow-moving vehicle via walkie-talkie'’s

Typically there is quite a bit of travel involved and no two days are the same
Due to the nature of the work, class 1 drivers are often paid very well in line with their safety performance and experience
What do I need to be a pilot driver?
Minimum of a full, clean Class 1 license
Can drive a manual vehicle
Minimum of 2 years driving experience
Comfortable driving on high-speed roads without distraction
Solid knowledge of the NZ road code and driving routes
Have great verbal communication skills
Comfortable working up to 12 hour days
(We require all applicants to undergo a preemployment drug test prior to commencing with in this role)
