ATWC (Anglican Trust for Women and Children) is a well-established Charitable Trust, with over a hundred and sixty years of service to families in our community. Our agency is one of the leading providers of the Social Workers in Schools (SWIS) Program, within Auckland.

**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

We are looking for two full-time Social Worker with our Family Start program in Otahuhu and Avondale.

As a Family Start Social Worker you will deliver an intensive home visiting programme working with children 0-5 years old and their families. The programme supports families with child development, health, education, and safety. Families of all ethnic backgrounds, with high needs can be referred to Family Start at any time from pregnancy, up until the baby is 12 months old. We work with families living with a variety of needs including mental health, addiction, care and protection, relationship issues, parenting and child developmental needs. ATWC recognises that families are the experts of their own lives and will support them to achieve their goals.

**Responsibilities**
- Work with parents/caregivers of babies and young children in their homes, using a wide range of skills and parenting strategies.
- Collaborate with families/whanau, and other professionals, to assess the needs of children and babies.
- Create and monitor plans using appropriate interventions and the resources available to assist the client family.
- Support families to use their strengths, support networks, and resources independently to develop greater resilience and maintain a positive and safe environment for their children.
- Case management including reflective practice and good administrative skills

**Mōu | About you**

**Skills and Experience**
- Registration with SWRB or working towards SWRB graduate registration
- Experience of working with children and families is preferable
- An understanding of working with trauma, family violence, addictions, & mental health. is preferred.
- Effective communication skills - speakers of multiple languages are encouraged to apply
- Knowledge of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- A full and current clear driver’s licence
