Port Otago Group’s business comprises a regional container terminal, bulk port activities, cruise and property investment and development. We service South Canterbury, Otago, and Southland, working with customers to streamline their supply chains. Our culture is hands-on, safety focused and encourages continuous improvement.
Reporting directly through to our Supply Chain Manager, we are looking for an enthusiastic and confident individual to lead our Dunedin Coldstore where you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of operational excellence, safety, and process improvements across our Coldstore operations.
**So, what will I be doing?**
As our Coldstore Manager, you will ensure the delivery of safe operations to meet excellent customer service for best practice storage, receipt, and delivery of product across our Coldstore Operations.
Proven experience working with multiple PCBU users would be an advantage, as you will also be the lead for Dunedin PCBU wharf users, building constructive and safe work practices, ensuring everyone is working safely together on the wharves.
Ideally, you will have proven operational experience working in logistics and supply chain management, and some leadership experience too. This is important as day-to-day you will play a critical leadership and coaching role for supervisors and forklift operators.
**Key to your success will be**:
- A true passion for Health & Safety - you will need to lead your team to ensure a high level of Health and Safety compliance and a positive H&S culture
- Proven experience in a logistics and supply chain environment
- Prior experience successfully leading a diverse team, along with excellent communication and team building skills
- Your ability to remain calm under pressure, with strong organisation skills with the ability to multi-task, plan ahead and forecast
- Experience liaising with numerous stakeholders with excellent engagement skills and a collaborative style
- Comfortable with computers as you will need to use our various IT systems
- Alignment to Port Otago’s values
