**Retail Life Insurance Adviser**

**What can you expect?**

We are looking for an experienced Retail Insurance Adviser who is also able to manage a small portfolio of group accounts, to join the Employee Benefits team at Mercer Marsh Benefits. Based at our Christchurch office, you will be responsible for growing our book of retail clients as well as retaining and developing our group client portfolio.

Are you an experienced insurance adviser:

- Can identify and solve an individual’s insurance needs?
- Can close the sale?
- Can work in partnership with underwriters to get the policy completed?
- Would like to operate in the group insurance space?
- But does not enjoy prospecting.
- This could be the role for you.

**We will count on you to**:

- Manage existing Client base, review covers and grow the book of business to ensure that you consistently meet and exceed revenue and retention targets
- Actively identify opportunities to add additional insurance for members of existing group schemes.
- Develop mutually beneficial relationships with the Commercial Brokers
- Develop and maintain excellent internal and external stakeholder relationships to preserve and protect company’s relationships at all times
- Contribute towards the Company’s profit objectives through the effective management and attainment of revenue and expense budgets
- Lead, plan and implement clear and effective renewal and broking strategies, ensuring renewal performance meets required standards

**We would like you to have**:

- Relevant financial service qualifications at least to a RFA level and ideally at, or studying to achieve Level 5 qualifications..
- Ability to recognize opportunities to generate new revenue/ opportunities.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work autonomously as well as a part of a team
- Proven sales and life insurance advisory experience in the personal insurance space is essential
- Possess a good working knowledge of all aspects of the Insurance and other relevant legislation and keep abreast of all new developments
- Role model leadership behaviors in respect of growth initiatives
