We're looking for a data-savvy and people-focused Senior HR Data & Insights Lead to join our People & Capability team. This is a unique opportunity to shape how we use data to drive people decisions, while mentoring others and embedding a culture of insight-led leadership.

You'll be the go-to expert for HR data strategy, reporting, and analytics—translating complex information into meaningful insights that support remuneration, workforce planning, and collective bargaining. You'll also play a key role in coaching analysts, enhancing systems, and championing data integrity across the organisation.

**What You'll Be Doing**
- ** Lead HR Reporting & Insights**: Deliver regular, high-impact reporting and dashboards that inform strategic decisions across all levels of leadership.
- ** Coach & Mentor**: Guide and support HR analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and technical excellence.
- ** Remuneration Support**: Provide data-driven insights to support remuneration reviews, bargaining strategies, and personnel planning.
- ** System & Process Improvement**: Enhance reporting efficiency through automation, Power BI dashboards. Identify and resolve system issues in collaboration with IT and Digital teams.
- ** Project Involvement**: Contribute to key organisational and HR projects, ensuring data and systems perspectives are embedded from the start.

**What You'll Bring**
- Senior level experience in HR/business reporting, analytics, or systems improvement.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with HRIS systems (SAP preferred).
- Strong statistical knowledge and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Experience mentoring or coaching others in technical or analytical roles.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A tertiary qualification in HR, business, IT, or statistics is preferred.

- Location_ - This position is primarily based at the Christchurch City Council Civic Offices, Te Hononga, 53 Hereford Street_
