**What we're looking for**
- Several years of programming experience in PHP or in a similar language, e.g. Java, Ruby, Python or C#.
- Strong knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and CSS.
- Experience in one or more SQL databases
- Experience with front-end framework libraries such as Vue.js, Svelte, Angular, or React
- A very strong understanding of what good quality code looks like, and how to write readable, maintainable, and testable code that operates in supported browsers.
- Experience in writing unit and integration tests.
- Experience using GIT and common workflows.
- An understanding of web accessibility, particularly the WCAG 2.1 standard and Section 508, and assistive technologies.
- Experience with responsive and adaptive design and best practice.
- Knowledge of commonly used reliable open source libraries and utilities
- An understanding of common web security issues, types of vulnerabilities and how to secure your code.
- Troubleshooting experience and knowing how to deal with various types of issues, including performance, security and accessibility.
- Appreciation and drive for good communication and collaboration. We strive to build high performing teams who can solve challenges together.
- Engagement and self-motivation when presented with a challenge, but also enjoying discussing problems and solutions with your colleagues.
- Experience working closely with Designers to create front-end experiences from specifications
- Strong awareness of your technical limits with both the back and front-ends

It's a bonus if you possess experience in any of the following:

- Older front-end libraries, specifically jQuery, Bootstrap and YUI.
- Back-end Frameworks such as Symfony or Laravel
- BEM CSS methodology.
- Node.js for build tooling and task running
- Acceptance testing frameworks such as Behat
- GraphQL APIs
- Experience working with design systems and/or pattern libraries.
- UI / UX design principles and best practice.
- Contributions to other open source projects.
- Knowledge of SVG.
- Docker containers
