**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

Our Child, Adolescent and Family (CAF) Access Team receives enquiries and referrals for our CAF specialist mental health services and provides an emergency response with short term follow-up for Tangata Whaiora (young people) with an acute mental health concern. These positions are an exciting new addition to the team to enhance and expand short term treatment for our Tangata Whaiora and their family/whanau. You will be working within a fast-paced dynamic team that delivers a high standard of clinical, evidenced based and personalised care. You will be working within the CAF Access Team and will receive comprehensive orientation and on-going support to ensure you master every aspect of the role. We are seeking people who can work well under pressure, communicate effectively and have strong clinical skills / experience.

Currently based at The Princess Margaret Hospital we are a small but growing multi-disciplinary team who work closely together. Your role will involve participating in a multi-disciplinary team, conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments, and providing short term evidence-based interventions to enhance the Tangata Whaiora journey either into continuing care or support return to a community treatment provider.

This is a 0.5FTE permanent position. The team works Monday to Friday during business hours.

**Pehea / About You**

In this role, you will be responsible for
- Providing comprehensive psychological assessments for Tangata Whaiora and family/whānau experiencing acute mental health concerns
- Providing short term, evidence-based, intervention for Tangata Whaiora and family/whanau
- Participating in a Multi-disciplinary team and offering a Psychological perspective
- Working collaboratively with external agencies striving for better health outcomes in our community.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako / Skills and experience**:

- The ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with Tangata Whaiora, family/whanau, within the team and with other agencies;
- A minimum of 2 years mental health experience would be advantageous;
- Experience within a Child and Adolescent setting and an understanding of child and adolescent development is essential;
- Experience of providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions is essential and ideally with Tangata Whaiora and family/whanau
- Registration with the NZ Psychologists Board and current Annual Practicing Certificate is essential;
- As some travel is required in this position, a current NZ driver - s license is essential.
