Te Whānau o Waipareira is seeking dedicated and passionate Kaitūhono Youth Workers to support rangatahi wahine in our care. This role is essential in guiding and advocating for young wahine Māori, helping them re-engage with education, employment, and whānau, while fostering a safe and supportive home environment.

**About the Role**

As a Kaitūhono Youth Worker, you will play a key role in empowering rangatahi through structured guidance, positive role-modeling, and active engagement in daily routines. You will provide practical support such as:

- Assisting rangatahi in re-engaging with education or vocational pathways.
- Supporting them in attending appointments, visiting whānau, and developing peer connections.
- Encouraging involvement in cultural, artistic, and musical programmes.
- Teaching essential life skills like cooking, budgeting, and self-care.
- Building trust and offering guidance to help redirect behaviours stemming from past trauma.

**Weekend Work - 24/7 Service**

As part of our 24/7 operation, your presence will be crucial in maintaining a stable, nurturing environment for the young wahine in our care. We are looking for committed individuals to work weekend shifts within our home for rangatahi wahine:

- Saturday 6:00am - 6:00pm
- Saturday: 6:00pm till Sunday: 6:00am
- Sunday: 6:00am - 6:00pm
- Sunday: 6:00pm till Monday: 6:00am

**Skills and Experience**

We are looking for team members who bring:

- A full, clean New Zealand Driver License (for essential travel requirements).
- At least 2 years of experience working with rangatahi and whānau, particularly those facing behavioural challenges.
- A background or qualification in psychology, social sciences, education, or social work (preferred but not mandatory).
- A strong commitment to Te Reo me ngā Tikanga Māori and community-based initiatives that uplift rangatahi.
- Resilience, reliability, and maturity to navigate challenging situations with integrity and professionalism.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and accurately manage case data.
