Ksk telecom and property services contracting company under Chorus. Looking for a experienced fiber technician whiling to work in gisborne or corramandal.

Telecommunications Lead Technician Ksk telecom and property services. looking for experienced technician.

roles include
- Fibre Splicing/Blowing. Fibre/Copper hauling, Phone, TV & Internet connections and networking, MDU/ROW builds for both residential and commercial sites as well as concrete and asphalt permanent reinstatements.
- Plan, design, and troubleshoot local and wide area network infrastructure, including Wireless Routers, Copper phone lines and Fibre networks.
- Tests and certifies Fibre optic cables using specialized equipment (Splicer, OTDR Testers, and Fibre Tracers).
- Installing Internal and external Fibre/Copper cabling for residential and Commercial Premises utilizing both underground and aerial methodologies.
- Setting up modems, wireless networks, VOIP, TV, Internet & phone services.
- Providing ongoing operational support for troubleshooting, optimizing telecommunication network performance at all terminals including FAT, ABFFP, Network Cabinet, and Customers’ end.
- Installing Fibre & CAT 5 wiring as required, including cable runs through buildings, ceilings and under floor access.
- Capable of using hand saws and power tools.
- Civil work (Concrete/Asphalt cutting, Hand trenching both inside and outside boundary as well as Permanent concrete & asphalt reinstatement).
- Integrating and Configuring Telecommunication Devices and tools.
- Connect Fibre optic cables to networking outlets and between network outlets.

It is preferred to have the following to be considered for the role however, training and certification will be considered for the right person.
- ROW/MDU & SDU Fibre/Copper build and connect experience.
- A current first aid certificate.
- Current Traffic Control TC1 or STMS certification.
- WTC1 and WTC3 (Work training competencies) certificates.
- Chorus - Network Know How accreditation.
- Class 1 driver license.

Skills and Qualification Preferred Requirements:

- Qualification in IT Networking or Telecommunications services is preferable.
- Good understanding of the NZ Telco network, including Fibre/Copper/Coxial technology and familiar with
- basic telecommunication color codes.
- Basic computer literacy - e.g., use of tablets, laptops and android phones.
- Good communication and Customer service skills.
- Able to work unsupervised and within a team.
- Be Fit and Healthy.
- Be comfortable working at heights and tight spaces.
- Strong computer literacy.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety.
- The desire to learn Technical and operational aspects of the job.
- Able to work with NZ weather conditions.
- Honest, reliable and punctual.
- Clean Police Record.
- Drug testing may be required.
- Ability to travel when required, be willing to work 5 days a week and occasional Overtime & Saturdays.**Job
