Join Access Community Health/Uru Ātea as an Advanced Support Worker, focusing on evaluating, training, and supporting our general support workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
**Community-Based Assessments**:
- Evaluate support workers' care practices (e.g., handwashing, moving and handling).
- Provide in-field guidance to improve skills and ensure compliance with policies.
**In-Office Leadership**:
- Organize and lead workshops to enhance worker competencies.
- Collaborate with care coordination and clinical teams.
**Advanced Client Care**:
- Deliver complex care and specialized tasks (training provided).
**Team Development**:
- Offer on-the-job training and mentorship to less experienced workers.
This is a blend of community and office-based work, offering a chance to lead, train, and directly improve the quality of care for our clients. You would work closely with our small team of 4 other Wellington and Hutt Valley Advanced Support Workers to ensure staff around the region maintaining a high level of care
**Ngā tohungatanga mō tēnei tūranga | About you**
- Positive, can-do attitude and experience in behaviour management is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (training provided).
- Able to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., Palliative Care, Home-Based Nursing, Support Worker Coordination).
- Must have a full or restricted New Zealand driver's license.
- Level 4 Health and Wellbeing Certificate (or equivalent), or Level 3 with a plan to complete Level 4.
- Career force Assessor Qualification is a plus.
