Lamb Rearers

A fixed-term lamb-rearing position is available in Kirwee starting mid-July to October.

**About the Role**:
This is a full-time position working up to 50-hour weeks on a roster (roster to be confirmed with the successful applicants). You will work in a team of 2-3 people ensuring around 600 lambs get fed daily.

A typical day starts at 6.30 am with feeding system checks and, depending on the day's tasks and the number of new lambs, may last until 2.00 pm. There is also a night check at around 6.30 pm to make sure feedings are all gone and there are no blockages.
- Entering barn inspection - vaccinations, weighing, tags and teaching lambs to drink off teats for the first 3 days.
- Check automatic feeders are working, treats aren't blocked etc. and fill them
- Perform animal health checks
- Clean pens out

**About You**:
Some animal-rearing experience is needed for this role. Ideally, you have knowledge of common animal health issues and are capable of proactively identifying them. You have strong attention to detail and are familiar with appropriate animal handling techniques in line with animal welfare best practices.
- You **must **have reliable transport to get to/from the farm in Kirwee, Selwyn
- Previous experience rearing animals
- Able to commit to the July-October term

**What's On Offer**:

- Earn $25 - $30 per hour depending on experience
