**About the Role**

Ngā Harakeke mai Rongokako CAFS are able to provide an opportunity for an Intern Psychologist, to develop their skills and knowledge working alongside children, youth and their families with mental health and addictions issues.

The position will provide the opportunity to develop a range of psychological skills and services including comprehensive assessment, neuropsychological assessment, individual therapeutic intervention.

**About the Team/Service/ Location**

Ngā Harakeke mai Rongokako CAFS sits in the community and provides support for children and adolescents who have mental health difficulties that are severely impacting on most areas of their lives.

We are a multidisciplinary team made up of Psychiatrists, Occupation Therapists, Social Workers, Nurses, Psychologist, Dietitians and Support Workers.

We offer therapeutic interventions - CBT, DBT, ACT, PCIT, EMDR, Solution Focus, Talk Therapies, Family Therapy, AOD counselling, Motivational Interviewing

- An Intern Psychologist provides safe and clinically effective psychological assessment, intervention and advice for tangata whaiora (service user) under the supervision of a registered Clinical Psychologist.
- To provide a range of psychological skills and services, under supervision as required, including comprehensive assessment, neuropsychological assessment, individual and group therapeutic intervention, case management and consultation. These duties will be carried out with due regard to ethical, legal and NZ Psychologist Board prescribed standard, and under appropriate supervision
- Enrolment in a New Zealand Psychologist Board-accredited post-graduate diploma, masters or doctoral course of studies
- Scope of Practice: Intern Psychologist
- Registration as an Intern Psychologist under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003
- Current practising certificate
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
