**Taitara Mahi - Animal Welfare Kennel Officer**
**_Permanent full-time_**

Hastings District Council’s Animal Management team have a strong focus on education and quality customer service. To support and enhance our team we are seeking a caring, highly motivated and passionate individual with a passion for animals to be our new Animal Welfare Kennel Officer.

This role provides day to day control of the Animal Welfare Centre, ensuring welfare of impounded animals and evaluation and adoption of suitable pets, preparing and undertaking educational addresses and providing assistance to the Animal Control staff.

**Ōu wheako -about you**

To be successful in this role you will:

- Have excellent customer service skills, able to work with difficult and potentially confrontational customers.
- Have experience and/or qualifications in animal welfare or a related field.
- Be a team player, able to think laterally and problem solve.
- Hold a current full NZ Driver Licence.
