- proof-reading and ensuring accuracy of spelling and cross-referencing
- compiling and indexing of research data; and
- writing tasks as directed

In this role you will bring research, analytical and communication skills to support our work with applicants and implementing the Marine and Coastal Areas (Takutai Moana) Act 2011.
- sound knowledge of research theory and best practice
- able to build and maintain respectful relationships with Māori and work as part of a cross-disciplinary team in a collaborative and adaptable manner
- ability to assess complex information and clearly communicate findings
- detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity in research and documentation
- an understanding of the machinery of government and government decision-making.

Te Tari Whakatau is a Departmental Agency of Te Tāhū o te Ture - the Ministry of Justice. Our mahi sees the Crown addressing historical breaches of, and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, we work to restore the Crown's relationship with Māori and help recognise Māori customary rights under Takutai Moana legislation.
