This position is the lead role for our Travel Specialist Brand of non-ski travel. You will be taking over a portfolio of well-established clients that are at the high end of the leisure business as well as some long-time Corporate Customer Accounts. Your role will be working with the incumbent Senior Travel Specialist to transition the clients over to you as that person moves to retirement.
You will also work with the sales and Marketing positions in the business to further grow our existing client base. We will do this through the execution of a developed marketing plan. Travel Specialists is our luxury brand, and the goal is to provide a level of service to our customers that ensure our customers think of no one else for all their travel needs. Through your expertise and service levels, they will see value in using a Travel Specialist. In addition, a number of high-end travellers exist in our Ski Travel brand but we need to covert and capture their non-ski-related travel. As the base grows so we hope will the team of our Travel Specialists. There is an opportunity here for this position to be the lead.
You will effectively run Travel Specialists by managing customer requests for travel and delivering a high touch model of travel to the luxury traveller. Providing specialist advice, compelling and competitive quotes, ensuring accuracy and adequate detail is provided. Finalising all travel requests and issuing of appropriate documentation. We use Amadeus and Travel Log as our current systems. We are part of the First Group, and they will support our product buying and sometimes our training in new areas.
Requests will involve individual, school and group travel, including conference and incentive related business transactions from time to time as well as assisting in Concept Travels’ workload when a rare need arises.
You will also meet regularly with Sales and Marketing to discuss the marketing calendar and advise areas of concentration in terms of travel products. You will jointly agree on the marketing strategies/calendar and deals we should have to meet our customers travel plans and goals.
**Other general Travel Agent duties to be performed**:
- Airfares & re-issues: Quoting and booking client airfares and ticket re-issues.
- Accommodation, transfers, other travel product requests: Quoting and booking accommodation, transfers, tours, cruises, other travel related products.
- Education: You will keep up to date by attending various Travel updates and functions from the industry.
- Customer Management: Management and production of client travel documentation (including visa’s).
- Property descriptions in Access: Property and room descriptions change and also need to be frequently updated in our wholesale system.
- Brochures / information: Brochure stock must be kept up to-date
- Data base: General maintenance of our Access data base & Newsletter data base.
- Accounting: We have a part-time Accounts person on our team, but each specialist is responsible for their own accounting using our in-house accounting system Travelog.
- Client functions: Occasionally you will be required to assist with planning and attending client functions.
