Our Opportunity
We are looking for a Filler and Packer operator at our Yoplait site in Palmerston North. The role of the Operator is to operate and monitor the equipment to produce high quality products in accordance with the production plan. The role will be required to complete equipment checks, meet agreed productivity and waste reductions targets and maintain a high standard of cleanliness around the plant.
Key accountabilities of the role include

**Filler Operator**:

- Routine Operation of equipment necessary for the filling of yogurt and dairy product following standard operating procedures
- Set-up of raw materials necessary to undertake processing of yogurt and dairy product
- To assist engineering where practicable in the routine maintenance of filling machine equipment to ensure maximum efficiency of operation with minimum disruption to production
- To follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) for the cleanliness of all filling room equipment, internal building surfaces and external surrounds to ensure a high degree of plant hygiene is maintained
- To achieve a high standard of fruit / base addition to meet targets and maximise company profitability

**Packing Operator**:

- Perform routine operation of equipment necessary for the packing of yogurt and dairy product following standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Ensure materials are prepared necessary to undertake packaging and coordinate with the Storeman when needed.
- Ensure smooth operation of forklift to transport pallets and ensure machines are kept “charged” ready for use, following standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Ensuring packers are correctly setup and refilled regularly with cases, labels & glue.
- Checking for correct labels, best before date and packaging quality.
- To ensure preparation of fruit bags (including lifting: 15kgs), writing of codes, filling up the fruit sheet and ensuring putting back in cool store returned fruit bags.

**Shift Pattern**:
**Monday to Friday rotating shifts. Shift times**: 12am to 8am, 4pm to 12am and 8am to 4pm.
**Hourly Rate**: $25.85 p.h - $26.55 p.h depending on experience.
About You
We're looking for someone with the following skills and experience to join us:

- 1+ years' experience working in a FMCG business preferred
- Prior Dairy processing experience desired but not essential
- Food manufacturing experience is beneficial.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Forklift experience is highly desirable
- To work in a safe and responsible manner, reporting any accidents or incidents in accordance with Company Health & Safety
