Pastoral Specialist

Crown Property role, diverse portfolio of South Island leasehold farms,
- Work with lessees and agencies to help manage 1.2 million hectares of the high country,
- Role based in our Christchurch office with some travel required

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of leasehold farm properties from Southland to Marlborough under the Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998 (CPLA) and the Land Act 1948. You will also be playing your part in the Pastoral team as we implement the 2022 reforms to the CPLA.
Pastoral is one of six teams in the Crown Property group providing leadership and direction for Crown-owned property and looking for opportunities to maximise these assets for the benefit of New Zealanders. Day-to-day, the group manage about two million hectares of Crown land, including surplus Crown assets, commercial and residential properties, pastoral leases and forestry licences.
The role reports to the Leader of the Pastoral team in Crown Property and will work with the wider Crown Property team as well as the Commissioner of Crown Lands and his team.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Proven knowledge, experience, and capability in managing complex or sensitive land related issues.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a range of internal teams, farmers, key stakeholders, and Iwi.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- High level written and verbal communication skills to provide information to a range of audiences.
- Experience managing projects and contracts with suppliers.
- You must have a current driver's licence.

**The annual salary range for this role is**: $85,000 - $100,000 dependant on skills and experience.
