Cabinet Maker/joiner

As a cabinet maker you will be required to construct cabinetry to the highest standard. You will need to maintain a high attention to detail, be able to read plans and ensure the builds are completed on time. This is a very diverse and rewarding role.

Applicants for this position must be able to work in NZ and have a drivers licence or obtain one. Must speak English, be reliable, have enthusiasm and the ability to work hard and be part of a small team. Kitchen or joinery manufacturing essential.

Full time position - minimum 40 hours per week
Must live or be willing to relocate to Waiheke Island

**Qualification**:Relevant trade qualification OR Relevant prior work experience

**Responsibilities**:

- Construct and assemble cabinet components, making sure that all pieces fit the dimensions specified by the foreman and client
- Verify and double check all calculations to ensure alignment of doors, hinges and side panels, always using blueprints or design plans for reference
- Knowledge of furniture styles, and timber and cabinet-making materials
- Cabinet-making skills, including knowledge of furniture-making and repair methods
- Technical drawing skills and the ability to read diagrams
- Clean and repair all equipment necessary for your work, including handsaws, table saws, skill saws, and a variety of drills and sanding tools
- Be exact in measurements and markings so that materials will be used efficiently and the projects will meet budgetary restrictions
- Install the appropriate hardware, such as hinges and handles, and order replacement materials when needed
- Match materials and grains to create a uniform appearance for all the matching units
- Reinforce joints and attachments to maximize sturdiness and durability without compromising aesthetic appeal or functionality
- The ability to operate machinery and use tools correctly
- Maintain a safe working environment by cleaning and disposing of old materials, such as nails and screws
- Attention to detail

**Salary**: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour
