Automotive Machinist

Type: Permanent, Full time

Days required: Rotating roster, including weekends

Hours per week: 30 to 40 hours per week

Hourly Pay: $35 - $45 per hour

**As an Automotive Machinist, your main duties and responsibilities are to**
- Reconditioning of the engines Japanese, American and European origins
- Making new parts for engines up to about 15 litres size

**Other duties include**:

- Operating boring machines and grinders
- Dismantle engines or engine components
- Cleaning parts, diagnosing faults, measuring parts and assessing repairs & parts required crack testing
- Machining engine parts:

- Reboring &machine honing of cylinders
- Resurfacing of cylinder blocks, heads & manifolds
- Reconditioning of conrods
- Fitting & Measuring bearings
- Replacement of valve seat inserts
- Refacing of valves and valve seats
- Engine Assembly
