**Position Overview**

As a **Butcher Assistant**, you will support the butchery team with daily preparation, presentation, and cleaning tasks to ensure the department runs smoothly and efficiently. You’ll help maintain high standards of hygiene, product quality, and customer service while learning valuable skills in meat handling and food preparation.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist the butcher with cutting, trimming, and preparing meat for display and sale.
- Weigh, price, package, and label meat products accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment, following all food safety and health regulations.
- Rotate stock to ensure freshness and minimise waste.
- Keep the display cabinets well-stocked, appealing, and compliant with merchandising standards.
- Provide friendly, efficient service to customers and answer basic product inquiries.
- Support the team with general cleaning duties, including sanitising equipment and work areas.
- Assist with unloading and organising deliveries in the cool room.

**Skills and Attributes**
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
- Physically fit and able to handle repetitive tasks and moderate lifting.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Previous experience in a butchery or supermarket environment is an advantage, but full training will be provided.

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
