**About the role**

Operating in the safety-focused environment of our B&D Garage Doors manufacturing site in Hornby, Christchurch, this is a great opportunity to join our maintenance team to ensure our site performs at its peak each day.

As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be an important member of our Maintenance Team responsible for mechanical maintenance services across our manufacturing site. Working with a small team of Maintenance Fitters, you will carry out preventative maintenance - challenging yourself to manage plant availability and contribute to long term solutions.

**Responsibilities**
- Ensuring that all plants and equipment are maintained to operational standards on the Gracefield site, in line with all related Dulux Group operational and SH&E policies
- Helping with the fabrication and installation of new/replacement equipment, and the upgrading of existing equipment, to ensure plant efficiencies are improved or maintained
- Providing technical assistance for continuous improvement projects and lean manufacturing initiatives to optimise the manufacturing process.
- The role is mainly day shift with some flexibility needed for call outs etc.

**Skills & Experience**

In this highly autonomous role, you will need strong problem-solving skills and a positive, proactive attitude to succeed. Solid mechanical maintenance experience within the manufacturing industry is key. Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and a range of mechanical equipment, coupled with fabrication skills would ensure you hit the ground running. Other key skills and experience include:

- Ideally Mechanical Fitter trade certificate
- Welding abilities preferable with heavy and light steels
- Relevant experience with breakdown and preventative maintenance, as well as fault diagnosis on production machinery
- Previous MEX experience highly regarded.
