** About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga**- This role is permanent fulltime and can be based in either the Palmerston North or Whanganui offices.- As Strategic Advisor, Māori, you will provide thought leadership and expertise to strategies, work programmes and complex system issues to accelerate Māori educational achievement. You will ensure Māori needs and aspirations are at the forefront of decision-making, promote Māori identity, language and culture, and support the Director of Education in leading iwi and Māori stakeholder engagements.
**About you | Mōhou ake**- To be successful in this role, you will:- Have experience at a leadership level, ideally in a complex organisation
- Demonstrate ability to lead strategic initiatives and organisational change
- Build strong relationships and partnerships with iwi and Māori organisations
- Possess sound political awareness and ability to navigate government processes
- Communicate effectively in Te Reo Māori when required
- Provide cultural support to ensure tikanga Māori is respected in engagements
- You will also offer excellent interpersonal skills, data-driven decision-making capability, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
