**64 hours per fortnight (1.0FTE)**

We are seeking a highly motivated Perioperative Administrator to join our Perioperative Team, working on a fixed term (12 month) basis at the Hawkes Bay District Health Board.

The Perioperative Unit employs staff across six areas: Operating Theatres, Day Surgery Unit (DSU), Pre-Admission, Post Anaesthetic Care Unit, Sterile Services and the Anaesthesia Unit. There is a mixture of clinical and non-clinical staff across the whole unit.

This is a challenging and exciting position and we are looking for a conscientious and task orientated individual, preferably with a clinical service background, including all of the following:

- Strong administrative skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer skills - systems / keyboard / data entry skills
- Ability to prioritise workload
- High standards in your work with attention to detail

We are ideally looking for someone with several years’ experience in a busy role and ideally some of that experience would have been within the health sector. It is essential that you are able to deal sensitively and confidentially with all information and have a strong attention to detail.

While experience in the hospital setting is desirable, we will consider applicants who are interested in working in this area. You will have a flexible “can do” attitude, be self-sufficient and happy to hit the ground running
