The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Barrier Foreperson to join our Petone team. In this role you'll see yourself responsible for leading an operational crew supervising projects ensuring work is carried out to specifications and best industry practice. You will deliver a quality service, developing the capabilities of your crew, engaging with staff and clients daily and ensure our high standards of health and safety are met by your team.
In addition to the above you will:
- Lead the installation and repair of road safety barriers including steel guardrails and wire rope systems- Coordinate, plan and organise plant, labour, sub-contractors and suppliers- Complete all documentation required for the role including, daily job sheets, prestart inspections, plant usage sheets, quality checklists, hazard ID’s

We're looking for someone with:
- Proven experience in road barrier or civil infrastructure work- Competency in operating excavators and hydraulic pile drivers- Skilled and trained in using Cat and Gennie locating equipment- Physically strong and able to perform manual labour in all weather conditions- Strong understanding of health and safety practices and NZTA specifications- Comfortable with shift work and night operations- Permit issuer and receiver certified- Experience in the locating of underground services trained- Basic computer / reporting skills for daily logs and stock tracking- NZ Certificate in Infrastructure works L3 or higher (preferred)- Class 2 Full license with WTR endorsements

This is a permanent position located in Petone. This position is 40 hours per week. The hourly rate range is $35.21 - $37.49 per hour.
