**Our Training Programme**

The Auckland training program is accredited by the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA) and (in the case of joint trainees) the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP). Please check the RACP and RCPA college websites to find our more information about working as a Pathology Registrar in Haematology. For advanced training information on Pathology Haematology, please click here. The Auckland region is accredited for three to four years of the required RCPA training.

**Please note**:
This position is only for 12 months duration due to a short-term vacancy. Should you be appointed for the position for 2025 training year, you will need to make plans for what you would do from January 2026.

**You will need to meet the following criteria to be eligible**:

- Joint trainees need to have passed the FRACP part I examination and priority will be given to those who have been accepted for advanced training in haematology. Pathology haematology only applicants need to have completed at least 2 house surgeon years.
- An interest in technical and scientific laboratory matters and sound clinical skills
- Interpretive and report writing skills
- Capacity to work as part of a medical team
- Eligibility for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Check if you’re eligible here
