How would you like to work with and amongst a diverse suite of spectacular recreational assets within the Tongariro National Park and surrounding District?
Our Kaitiaki Matua/Senior Rangers form an integral part of our Central Plateau District leadership team and we have an opportunity for someone with the right skills and experience to join us as a Senior Ranger, Heritage and Visitors.
You will work to support the strategy, planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting of our district work programme to our Pou Matarautaki (Operation Manager). You will specifically focus on work planning, scheduling and managing visitor assets and heritage sites, and could be anything from the identifying maintenance issues with our tracks and utilities, to planning work within budget and resources and allocating out to teams.
No two days are the same and the scope of the work is varied and diverse:
- Actively work closely with whānau, hapū and iwi with all the sites we manage
- Work closely with the Supervisor, and lead planning of the annual, quarterly and monthly work programmes for the Operations Manager
- Plan, phase and track budget (including capital), identify critical cost pressures and recommend solutions
- Assist the Operations Manager to monitor field operations and systems to inform planning and reporting
Now is an exciting time to join with exciting projects already in action, including enhancements of the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, and infrastructure development of Whakapapa Village.
