The Nurse Educator Paediatric services is a key member of both the Paediatric and
Workforce Development teams. Although based at Nelson Hospital, this role will also provide support
for other areas in the organisation.
As a Nurse Educator it is your role to coach and educate staff to their
best potential resulting in improved experiences for our health consumers. You
will work alongside the paediatric
team, in a clinical coach/mentoring capacity, leading and embedding
evidence-based practice, developing education strategies, involving staff in
identifying areas for development, and developing objectives and plans in order
A large component of this role will be ensuring that clinical quality
systems are in place within and across our nursing services to enhance care
delivery.
Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)
You will be an experienced, resilient and adaptable senior registered
nurse with a current practicing certificate and extensive paediatric care nursing experience. You will have excellent
communication and engagement skills, and you will have demonstrated your
ability to teach adults in both formal and informal setting. You will have a
current Expert portfolio (or working towards) and a Certificate in Adult
Teaching Level 4, as well as Masters of Nursing level post graduate education,
or working towards (essential).
Te Whatu Ora staff must have completed
their primary course of NZ approved COVID-19 vaccines as they have direct
contact with patients and members of the public.
